Whitianga Oceans Festival

The Whitianga Oceans Festival is a popular food and wine festival held annually in September as a celebration of seafood and cuisine.

There’s something for everyone, young and old – with food and wine stalls, cooking demonstrations from some of NZ’s top chefs, live music and entertainment. This will be the 20th year of the festival, one of the country’s most iconic seafood/kaimoana celebrations.

Tickets are usually available through their website from around April or May. We recommend purchasing your tickets in advance as it is a popular event and often sells out.

Getting to the Oceans Festival from Flaxmill

 Flaxmill is within walking distance to Ferry Landing and the 5 minute passenger ferry over to Whitianga.
