Accessible House accommodation at Flaxmill Bay on the Coromandel Peninsula

Flaxmill now has 5 Accessible Houses on-site. These offer the same quality fixtures and fittings of our other Holiday Houses, but have been specifically designed for guests who are wheelchair users, or have reduced mobility.

Sleeping up to 6 (twin-share), these 3 bedroom houses are on one-level with easy access from a wide deck and a dedicated mobility parking space within 20 metres of the entrance. All doorways are 800mm wide and the full kitchen has all equipment positioned at, or below, bench height.

The main bathroom has a roll-in shower, fold down seat, handrails and a higher toilet. The bathroom vanity has been lowered and has a mirror at a height you can actually see yourself in! See our house facilities.

A port-a-cot and high chair can be hired upon request at additional cost (subject to availability).

This kitchen is well designed with microwave, sink, cupboards, drawers, stovetop, oven, washing machine and bins all accessible for everyone. It also provided plenty of room for our powerchair to circulate in with other family members."

This is the second time staying in the accessible villa for my brother-in-law, who says it is the best accessible accommodation he has ever stayed in, and he should know, being well travelled, nationally and internationally, over the last 45 years that he has been a paraplegic.
