Wheelchair friendly accommodation at Flaxmill Bay on the Coromandel Peninsula

Our 3-bedroom accessible houses, ‘Purangi’ and ‘Cathedral’ offer all the quality fixtures and fittings of our other Holiday Houses, but have been specifically designed for guests who are wheelchair users or have reduced mobility.

Sleeping up to 6 (twin share), these houses are one-level with easy access from a wide deck and a dedicated mobility parking space within 20 metres of the entrance. All doorways are 800mm wide and the full kitchen has all equipment positioned at, or below, bench height.

The main bathroom is accessible with a roll-in shower, fold down seat, handrails and a higher toilet. The bathroom vanity has been lowered and has a mirror at a height you can actually see yourself in! See our house facilities.

A port-a-cot and high chair can be hired upon request at additional cost (subject to availability).

As there are only 2 accessible houses on site, they are subject to availability. Please let us know when booking or enquiring if you need these facilities.

This kitchen is well designed with microwave, sink, cupboards, drawers, stovetop, oven, washing machine and bins all accessible for everyone.
