The Wedding Ceremony
Nearby Flaxmill Bay Beach, Lonely Bay and Cooks Beach all provide beautiful locations for your wedding ceremony. There are a couple of things you need to know when considering this option:
- Along with your NZ Marriage License, a Registered Celebrant and 2 witnesses, you will also need a concession from the Thames Coromandel District Council (TCDC) to have your ceremony on a local beach.
- The TCDC application form and fee (currently $54) must be received at least 75 days before the day, however we recommend booking as early as possible, especially in the summer months, to avoid disappointment.
- The set up of a wedding arch and chairs is permitted on the beach, but marquees are not allowed.
